THE SCORPIONS. May 29 2010 O2 Center Berlin
Ok so this was indeed an Epic moment and a surprising throw back for me to 80’s MTV, suburban Americana, despite the fact that these guys are from Lower Saxony, Germany. and that they have been rocking since ‘65. Needless to say there was lots to talk about after their momentous O2 appearence. I’m a curious person. I want to Know.
Lars Amend, co-author with Rudolf Schenker of the best seller “Rock Your Life”, grabbed me, his girlfriend Saskia and good buddy Eric D’urso of Budzillus down to the O2 Center Berlin for the event. We guzzled down wine back stage then watched in awe as these vets plowed their way through a spectacular set. Massive lights and fire works, the still very fine and unmistakable voice of Klaus Meine, the shining, charasmatic personality of Matthias Jabs showing off his virtuoso on the Zebra print guitar, James Kottak murdering the drum set high above the crowd on his dazzling tower and last but not least, the backbone, guru like, Rock God presence of the great Rudolf Schenker who has held this troupe together for 45 years inspiring millions as he does so.
